About me

Hello! Thank you so much for visiting my page. My name is Melissa Walters and I would like to take a minute to tell you a little about myself. I am a certified personal trainer and I am also a wife, a mother of 2 amazing sons, ages 5 and 7, and a 7th grade math teacher.

My fitness journey began years ago much like most people where my goal was to change my body shape, and I failed at it, many times. I failed due to lack of knowledge, lack of consistency, lack of motivation, and mostly due to lack of support. I was restricting calories, doing too much cardio, and giving up over and over again.

After my first son was born, I ended up dropping a huge amount of weight and I finally hit the magic number. I was finally "skinny." The problem was, I hated it. I hated how I looked. I was in shock. What now? I felt lost in my physical goals, but to be honest I was lost in many other ways. My life had changed dramatically in the months leading up to the birth of my son, but also now as a new mom, everything was different. For the sake of my mental health I needed to find myself again, maybe for the first time ever. I wanted to be confident in the person I was on the inside and out. I turned to my husband for help, and it was him who got me started with resistance training. Little by little I saw the transformation happen, and not just the physical one, but a mental and emotional one. I loved feeling strong and looking strong. It made me confident in ways I never could have imagined.

I spent much of the following 5 years learning, growing, researching and immersing myself in as much information as possible. Many people were reaching out to me with questions and asking for support. I did what I could to help them, but it felt like something was missing. I wanted the official education and certification to back up what I was saying and what I was doing. It felt like the right thing to do. So, I signed up for the course in August of 2021 and became officially certified through NASM in February of 2022.

I have a passion for fitness, but I also have a passion for teaching and helping others. This has been a wild ride and I continue to learn and grow. Thank you for taking the time to read about my journey and for being here!
